1. Who will attend?

This invitation-only event brings together leaders from business, policy, civil society, and academia.

2. Where will the World Forum take place?

The World Forum will take place at Examination Schools, Oxford University, 75-81 High Street, Oxford, OX1 4BG.  

3. How do I explore Oxford?

Much of Oxford can be explored on foot as many of the colleges and attractions are located within a 10–15-minute walking distance. Please the University Visiting Oxford page to make the most of your visit.

4. What are transport options?

Rail

Oxford is well-connected by train, with around five trains an hour from both London Paddington and London Marylebone, the journey typically takes around one hour. For detailed schedules, please click here. Additionally, there is an hourly service from Manchester and Birmingham, along with regular services connecting the south coast and the northeast to Oxford. 

Examination Schools is approximately a 20-minute walk from Oxford Railway Station, or a 10-minute taxi ride.


Taxis

Upon arrival at Oxford Station, you will find a taxi rank conveniently located at the station entrance. Alternatively, taxis can be booked in advance from the following providers:

Car

There is no car parking on site, so we recommend using the park-and-ride system.

There are park-and-ride car parks on all the major approaches to the outskirts of Oxford. Alternatively, car parks are available across the city. The nearest one to Examination Schools is St. Clements.


Temporary Congestion Charge Scheme

Please be aware that Oxfordshire County Council have introduced a temporary congestion daily charge scheme for cars in Oxford. For further information and to pay online, visit the Oxfordshire County Council website. 


Bus

The nearest bus stop and airport bus stops are on the High Street just outside the Examinations School (Queen’s Lane stop). Information about buses in the city can be found here.


Bike

Bikes can be hired at the train station or around the city.  

5. Is Examination Schools Accessible?

  • The main entrance is stepped
  • The accessible entrance is next to the main entrance - there is ramped access and a powered door
  • There is lift access throughout the building
  • There are 2 accessible toilets
  • There are portable hearing support systems that can be deployed where needed
  • There is no parking on site. Public designated parking for Blue Badge holders within 200m is located on Queen’s Lane and Merton Street.

6. May I use social media?

We welcome the use of social media during the event. All sessions are on the record, except where a speaker specifically requests that it is not and during the breakout sessions. The Spotlight Sessions and The Oxford Debate will be held under the Chatham House rule.

7. Will there be photography or filming during the Forum?

Filming and photography will take place throughout the Forum for archival and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please contact our events team at events@smithschool.ox.ac.uk or inform a member of staff at the registration desk on arrival.
